There are plenty of informative and helpful guide books available at Coventry's Tourist Information Centre (TIC). Booklets, brochures and maps about the numerous walking trails around the Coventry area are also available here and these routes pass many top attractions and sights along the way.

Particularly popular with visitors staying in the city, the City Centre Trail and Coventry Historic Heart Walking Tour are both worth considering, while the Peace Trail begins at the ruins of the cathedral and concludes in the scenic Priory Gardens. For entertainment, the Belgrade Theatre on Belgrade Square and the Warwick Arts Centre at Coventry's University of Warwick campus are hard to beat. Here are Coventry's main tourist attractions.

The Coventry Canal terminates in this area and is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll or boat ride. Many boats gather here, around the historic wharf, which dates back to the 1800s. The Canal Basin is just a short walk away from the city centre and its many shops. Further attractions here include a popular waterfront cafe bar, where hot refreshments are available.

A popular family attraction in the inner city area, Coventry City Farm actively promotes the understanding and welfare involved in caring for a wide range of farmyard animals. Each year, the City Farm receives more than 60,000 visitors and it is possible to sponsor its many animals, with favourites including Shetland ponies, kunekune pigs, lambs, chickens and ducks. There are also rabbits, guinea pigs and even an old tortoise here.

The Heritage Plaques Trail has been well thought out and the route takes visitors past roughly 60 of Coventry's most prominent buildings and places of interest. An appealing way to gain an insight into many structures of significant architectural importance, the trail is approximately 6 km / 4 miles is length and lasts a minimum of one hour, starting at the Tourist Information Centre.
